City Neighbors Charter School has had a variety of recognitions over its years.
2009 AEMS Alliance/Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts School of Excellence Award:
In 2009, City Neighbors Charter School was recognized as an AEMS Alliance/Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts School of Excellence Award – for our arts and arts integration program.
2011 Green School
In 2011, City Neighbors was officially named a "Green School" for our on-going commitment to environmentalism, greening our building, and our environmental curriculum.
2011 Center Stage Award of Distinction
In 2011, we were recognized as a “Distinguished School” by Center Stage for our on-going commitment to drama and playwriting.
2009 Maryland School Performance Award
In 2009, City Neighbors recieved this award from the Maryland State Department of Education for its growth in student achievement as measured by standardized testing scores.
2011-2012 Professional Development Site for Loyola University
In 2011, City Neighbors becomes an official Professional Development Site for Loyola University. City Neighbors partners with Loyola in the on-going training and development of future teachers.
2010 and 2011 Maryland Humanities Council "Letters About Literature" Finalists
In 2010 and 2011, City Neighbors' Middle School students were selected as finalists for a statewide writing contest sponsored by the Maryland Humanities Council.
2010 and 2011 Fox 45 Champions of Courage Finalists
In 2010 and 2011, City Neighbors Middle School students won city-wide recognitions for their essays on "Champions of Courage."
